ISO 14001: 2004 Accreditation
On the 12th
Dec 2005, the REL-Group
also achieved registration to ISO 14001: 2004. "We pursued registration as part of the
company’s policy on continual improvement and commitment to environmental
matters, this certification is part of REL’s
overall effort to preserve and enhance the environment and protect the safety
and health of our employees, customers and neighbours" (Maria Hamill, Quality & Environmental Manager)
The environmental processes
undertaken include recycling, energy conservation, waste reduction, and health
and safety issues, such as fire and emergency preparedness. The company has
also undertaken an internal education program to ensure that employees are
aware of the steps they can take to improve their environments, this Provides a
framework for a systematic and integrated approach for environmental management
which allows the EMS to become part of the fabric of the
organization's business.
